The kits that are featured on this page are still being finalised but have reached a stage in their development where a sample has been produced and publicly displayed but there are still some further details to be refined prior to their release.

NSWGR 'FR' INDEPENDANT PASSENGER COACH

The FR coach was a 1930s rebuild of the side door LFX cars. They contained six second class compartments. Two types were produced, an intermediate car which had end doors and independent cars which had no end doors. While most intermediate cars were used in interurban services, the independent cars were allocated to regional depots.
The kit is currently being developed by O-Aust Kits for a planned release in 2009.
Initial release will be the independent coach. The intermediate version will be released at a later date..

QUEENSLAND RAIL BBV GUARDS VAN (On42)

The Queensland Railways BBV guards vans were produced by the Ipswich Railway Workshops in the mid 1950s with frame and bogies supplied by ComEng. A total of 50 (1582 to 1631) were produced. A number of them were converted to periscope vans in the 1970s for use on Central Queensland coal traffic.
The kit consists of polyurethane castings and details parts including interior fittings.
For On42, the recommended bogie is a stock S gauge 5'6" caboose bogie, which has a slightly shorted wheel base than the prototype but otherwise closely matches the specifications. The option of a bogie suitable for use on On30 is being further investigated.
Minor details need to be finalised before the kit can be released
